Through account registration, you will gain access to CommunityPortal features and services. The sections describes the terms and agreements for using various CommunityPortal features. By accepting this agreement you are bound to the terms and conditions herein.
USE OF FEATURES
The CommunityPortal has a host of features that allow users to interact in an online environment. Community Portal is designed to be a safe online harbor for community residents and their families. CommunityPortal provides a convenient and efficient way for community members to exchange thoughts, ideas, advice and resources with other users (including both Members and Visitors).
Through account registration, you will gain access to CommunityPortal features and services. Registered users may submit and share a variety of content from posting classified ads, to recipes and cooking ideas, to personal blogs about an adventure they took. Non-Registered users gain access to much of the public content as well. Any content added or submitted by you to the Community remains your intellectual property. By adding or submitting content to the Community you grant the association an unrestricted worldwide licence to publish the material on this web site.
The association will take all precautions to ensure the integrity of the CommunityPortal is not compromised. Features that allow content to be submitted by registered members must be approved prior to posting. The association will routinely monitor portions of the CommunityPortal to ensure content complies with the associations [Terms and Conditions] and to the [Code of Professional Conduct].
Code of Professional Conduct
Non-Members may view discussion forums, events, blogs and other non-restricted features, but are unable to post content or view member's Profile information. Your Community consists of a diverse group of people. So, when posting information to the CommunityPortal, please ensure that:
- you are concise, civil, tasteful and relevant
- your posts and responses are concerned with requesting and offering helpful advice, commenting on current practice issues, and sharing information and experience on relevant professional subjects
- you avoid vulgar, profane or otherwise offensive language
- you are careful when using ambiguous language or humor that may inadvertently offend
- you are patient and supportive of other users
- you do not make unwarranted criticism, abusive or libelous comments about other people or organizations, commercial or non-commercial
- you do not advertise your services, or the services of any company or organization with which you are associated. We offer an separate advertising feature for this.
- you do not include any personal contact information (e.g. telephone, email, company) within the body of your posting. Members may publish this information in your Profile which you can choose to have linked from your postings.
- you do not distribute text or graphics that are copyright protected unless you have clear permission to do so
- if you quote a book, journal, web site or other reference please clearly state your source
- when adding attachments to a post you state in your message which software application is needed to view the file. Note that the maximum size allowed by our systems is 500K
- you are reminded that your use of this Community is subject to the site [Terms and Conditions] and to the [Code of Professional Conduct]. If you feel that any other users behavior in the Community is unacceptable for any reason, contact the forum moderator or site manager privately by e-mail to raise your concerns (a moderator's e-mail address can usually be found on their home page).
